Nadine Mailloux holds a Bachelor of Law and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1999. She is a mediator accredited by the Barreau du Québec and by the Institut de médiation et d’arbitrage du Québec and a member of the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Canada. She is also a member of the Forum of Canadian Ombudsman.
She briefly practiced law early in her career before joining the ranks of the Regional Health and Social Services Board and becoming Ombudsman of a university-affiliated hospital and the CSSS of Montréal, a designated university-affiliated centre.
For several years, Ms. Mailloux ran a volunteer legal clinic in a disadvantaged area. She serves as pro-bono Ombudsman for Phare – children and families, a nonprofit organization that offers relief and support to families of children suffering from diseases that require complex care. She also chairs the parents' association of a city in the Montréal area, an association that operates a nonprofit preschool.
She has dedicated her career to alternative methods of conflict resolution and puts all of her considerable expertise in this area to work for the citizens of the City of Laval.
